Please make sure that your price is $96 per night. Ladies and Gentlemen, if I could please direct your attention to the pages on my right...er, your right. Specifically the page labeled BOOK THE HOTEL HERE! :) We have reserved 25 rooms for the weekend of the wedding. You can book as many nights as you want, or as few as you want... and no, 0 nights does not count as booking. :) The thing is, in order to reserve the rooms, we basically had to book them. The hotel is amazing and we know everyone will have a wonderful time there, so we hope you will choose our prebooked hotel (no pressure... huh?).
Now, if you don't use the link on the right (yours) to the actual page and just go onto the hotel website, which is below for your viewing pleasure, you can view the regular prices of the hotel. Now, if the price you are viewing, it must be on their website, is cheaper than the rate we've reserved the room at, no problem! Go ahead and book at the cheaper rate and just let them know you are with the Golding/Sheehan wedding, and we will still get credit for the room! Nice right!
You can cancel your reservation up to 24 hours in advance without penalty. So no worries!

A few weeks ago, my wonderful friends and family threw me a surprise shower. Everyone was hiding around the corner (sneaky people, you know I piddle when I get scared). It was such a wonderful time, and so many unforgettable moments, I decided to share it with you.
And boy, was I surprised. Even Jason had to help get me there, as I am notorious for ruining my own surprises. I don't know how I do it, it just happens.
Really...!
How the hell would I know to ruin a surprise... it's a SURPRISE. Which means I don't know about it. Sheesh. :)
So many of the photos are of my wonderful friends and Seattle family, including a familiar transplant known only as Mom....hmmm. Mom flew up under the guise of helping me pick out my wedding dress, when really, she was a schemer of epic proportions. Not once did she let it slip that there was a party coming, not once. Good job mom, and all my friends. I love you all.
The spread they set up was amazing. All of these wonderful mini sandwiches and dips and cookies and pies. My friends went to the trouble to make sure I could eat everything there. No allergic reactions this day, no no. :) And look at all the gifts!
Okay really, this is so much better. :)
And better again.
A book on well... well you see, it's for your guy really. Just look at the picture. sheesh

My wonderful MOH Summer. She threw the party in grand style, with questions she asked Jay and he gave answers to. The girls asked me the questions, and not only did I try to answer them, I tried to not get mad at Jay. Mom on the other hand, was not so lucky on the not getting mad at Jay part. LOL Gitim Mom!
Now comes my favorite part. The opening of the gifts, and the managerie of facial expressions I manage to have. The best facial expression, I'm saving for last. Really, it's just that good. It will allow you to leave this blog laughing aloud at the ability of my face to make that expression. Enjoy.
My amazing Grandmother (soon to be GG ~ Great Grandma) gave me a hankerchief that she took down the aisle when she married my Grandpa, my Aunt Pam took down the aisle, and my Mom took down the aisle when she married my dad, and my outstanding cousin Meg (Soon to be a mama!) had it with her when she married her wonderful husband Caleb. I'm honored to carry on the tradition, and hope it blesses my marriage with love and longevity, as it has the previous women who have carried it with them down the aisle.

Something finally this way comes... or in this case, the invitations. Sorry folks. We have not sent them out yet. Trying, honest. They should be out sometime this weekend. We have had a serious case of InabilityToFunction. I know, it sounds bad, but really, it's not a killer, and can be completely cleared up with copious amounts of caffeine... and maybe an ointment or two. We are working our way back to good health and appreciate your patience at this trying time.
Seriously, we're getting them done. Lots of folding and sticking and prepping. Sigh. Soon.

We hope everyone is getting excited! I know we are (after the goodness we're tired, there is always I can't wait!). Ah, to be a Golding. Honestly, I'm looking forward to it. I've been a Sheehan my whole life, and as wonderful and generally fun that has been, I'm up to the challenge of being a good Golding. Hmm, I'm not sure I liked the phrasing of that. Made me sound like a faithful puppy or something. HA! Wait, that's what I'll be basically. I'll be faithful (not the puppy part people, sheesh).

Hello Everyone,
Okay. So we have blocked a minimum of 25 standard rooms at $96.00 per room. This is the wedding Group Rate at the Radisson Hotel Opryland for the nights of September 7 and 8, 2012. The rate also applies from September 4 through 11, 2012 so you can arrive 4 days before the wedding and stay 3 days after the wedding!
Each additional person above double occupancy to a room is $10.00. Children 12 years and under are free when occupying the same room as their parents. Sales and lodging tax or the current prevailing tax will apply to the room rate, which is currently a total of 15.25% plus a $2.50 city tax. (Sheesh)
All individual Room Block reservations must be received thirty (30) days prior to the wedding date. All individual reservations must be accompanied by one night's deposit plus tax or guaranteed by a major credit card (the Hotel will charge an attendee's credit card for one night's stay prior to arrival).
Room reservations received by this date will be confirmed at the group rate. After this date, they will be confirmed on a space-available basis at the prevailing rack rate (regular room price at the time of booking). Deposits are only refundable for cancellations occurring 24 hours prior to arrival.
The main reasons that we chose the Radisson Opryland are:
• It is a large newly renovated hotel with all of the large hotel amenities. (awesome bar!)
• It is convenient (15 minutes) to both downtown and the wedding location
• They provide complementary local transportation to Opryland, Gaylord Hotel, the Mall, etc.
• They provide transportation to and from the airport at a nominal charge.
• They provide two way transportation on a regularly scheduled basis between the hotel and
downtown at a nominal charge. Friday night “meet the bride and groom” is downtown.
• There are plenty of neat places to go and eat within walking distance.
• The guaranteed room rate is lower than comparable hotels downtown and in Opryland.
• We will arrange transportation to and from the hotel to the wedding at Spring Haven Mansion.

So here's the bottom line. :) We absolutely loved the hotel. The rooms are really nice, and the place, is so awesome.
There's an indoor pool. You can have a room that overlooks the interior... it's not a courtyard.... it's a huge open area with chairs and tables and a bar (think that has to be booked).
Or you can have a room with a balcony(ish), basically it's a room with a door to the outside. It's just so neat. We had the best time just walking around the place. The restaurant/bar is really well known. They have live music and great food. We fell in love with the hotel, and hope you will too.

So my cousin Michael, who apparently has CRS (?), was kind enough to create maps of Nashville for those of us who will be visting the area for the first time. The first map "Nashville drinky linky" is the link to all good things drinkable in the city. There are a number of brewhouses and distilleries (HELLO JACK DANIELS?)
Blackstone Brewing is really good. We had the chance to eat and of course, drink there. Enjoyed it.
Now, Big River Grille has great food, and just a cool atmosphere. It's a brother to Gordon Biersch, which I believe is nationwide (maybe? who the hell knows). Basically it means good beer and good people. :)
There is this great Mexican place near my cousin Meg in Antioch. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it, but it is totally worth a drive. If my cousin likes you, she might even tell you the name of it if you ask nicely. :) She's wonderful like that.
Downtown Nashville is in itself just a fun place. This one place, Blue Moon or something, had a great band, heck, they all had really good music. The place is just an all around good time. I hope you all enjoy the maps Michael made and if you have questions, put them in the comments and I'll put the answers in the next post!

Hello Family and Friends,
We've done it, we ordered the invitations. It's official now, no turning back and running for freedom. Once it's in print, done, finite! We should get the invitations in the next few weeks and we will be sending them out to each and every household we hold dear. I'm telling you though, if one more person asks me when they will get their invitation, I might just throw them all out and everyone can draw straws. Hmmm, a cheaper and more environmentally friendly option. We'll have to think about that... wonder if we can cancel those invites now...
Okay, I wasn't honestly thinking about doing that. Well, maybe. :) So the invites are really cool. We went with a Goth style. All blacks and blood dripping. It's felt, with a heart on the front and a knife through it with Jay's initials. We LOVE it. Neither one of us are Goth, but there was just something disturbing and right about the invites. You'll understand when you see them. Awesome.
Let us know what you think of the invites when you get them! We never did like going with the traditional. I wish I had a picture of it to put here, but they were in this book and we couldn't get a clear picture of them.

Hello Sheehan Family, Golding Family and Friends. We are working on the finalizing of all things wedding at the moment, but so far, we have a good many things done for the party. I mean wedding!
The wedding is taking place at Spring Haven Mansion in Hendersonville, TN. You can click on the link below to see Spring Haven in all of it's glory. Luckily the colors for our wedding mesh perfectly with the Mansion. We really don't need to do a lot to give the place our colors. Green, black, silver and white. They have them all already. And the green, it's endless. Spring Haven Mansion is so beautiful, we can't wait to go back.

My parents joined Jay and I in Nashville to check out our wedding venue, and a number of other places to drink and eat while everyone will be there. Believe me, we exhausted ourselves drinking and eating and partying. For you. We did it for you, our families. It was tough, but we knew it was important to do as much research as possible. That's love.
We will be updating this blog as much as we can with as much information as we can. There will under no circumstances be any pictures of wedding dresses. Sorry to disappoint, but they're copywrited. Just kidding. It's supposed to be a surprise people! No wedding dress till the wedding day. If you don't come to the wedding, you won't get to see it. I'll go all soup nazi on you and keep you from getting pictures too... well, probably not. But the threat is there, so come to the wedding!
We can't wait to see everybody. And we're pretty sure the Sheehans and Goldings will get along just fine. If you don't, that's okay. You all live on the East coast, and we're on the west. We can't hear the complaining from there.
